Sherry Hayslip, IIDA, ASID, President and Principal Designer of Hayslip Design Associates, Inc. was named Texas Designer of Honor at The American Antiques Show held in conjunction with the American Folk Art Museum in New York. The American Antiques Show (TAAS) features a collection of all-American antiques, art and objects. The American Folk Art Museum is the leading center for the study and enjoyment of American folk art and features 18th- and 19th-century paintings, quilts, sculptures, and much more.
This year The American Antiques Show inaugurated what will be an annual tribute to the fifty United States by selecting Texas as the first state represented in their “Best of America” week. A committee of distinguished Texans, led by Grand-Chair Lynda Johnson Robb, travelled to New York to attend a variety of events surrounding The American Antiques Show, support the American Folk Art Museum, and celebrate the work of noted Dallas interior designer, Sherry Hayslip.
Hayslip responded to the award by saying, “It is a great honor to be recognized by The American Antiques Show as a representative of all that is best about design in Texas. The best design transcends borders. I love blending the cosmopolitan style of New York with the riches of Texas’ heritage.”
Hayslip’s other recognitions include “Designer of the Year” at the International Design Guild’s Annual Designer Showcase Awards, “Design Innovator” at the 6th Annual Giants of Design Awards sponsored by House Beautiful and Chrysler, and Regional Winner, Residential Kitchen Design in the 2008 Subzero-Wolf Kitchen Design Contest.
Hayslip has consistently been named one of the Best Designers in Dallas by D Home magazine and was featured in The Andrew Martin International Interior Design Review, renowned as the reference book and “best of” guide of interior designers around the world.
Hayslip Design Associates, Inc., established in 1975, has served a client list that is a “who’s who” of leading national figures from the business, arts, corporate and sports worlds. The firm has been featured in more than 75 publications.
