Call me crazy, but Lent is one of my favorite liturgical seasons. Some see it as a “downer,” a time for depriving oneself of “stuff,” or of reviewing how much of what we do and how we live is totally messed up. That may be a part of it, but Lent is also a time for quiet thought and deep growth. It’s a time to hush and listen to God speak … maybe point us in new ways of being with Him and with each other.
