Senior Living Sustainability Guide is now available on-line!
For the last three years a group of dedicated volunteers from various backgrounds have participated and contributed to the creation of a consensus based guideline, the Senior Living Sustainability Guide. The Guide is intended to expand the concept of sustainability beyond the physical environment; to include a process that supports resident-centered care models and culture change. The result includes addressing the Pre-Development stage of design, Socio-cultural Context, and the utilization of Four Dimensions – Resident, Organization, Operations, and Physical Setting. The overall goal for the user of the Guide is to realize that sustaining resident outcomes over time is the most important accomplishment of a senior living setting. Continual Improvement Process is also addressed in the Guide. The Guide is available for free download after registering here. There is also a Blog available to share case studies and best practices located on the same site.
